Aloft, Brighton

Local layers

In designing a new Aloft, for Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., we focused on lending the public areas local meaning and combining this with the design style of New York lofts. The familiar Aloft signatures are all there – a circular reception desk, pops of vibrant colour, an art wall and a pool table – to which we added exposed steel conduits, warehouse style lighting and a custom-designed art wall inspired by the football club’s heritage and Brighton’s seascapes.

The restaurant was envisioned as something of a seafaring fantasy with a ceiling created out of old weathered doors that might have been washed up on shore, loosely slung lighting cables suggesting ships’ rigging and nautical paraphernalia and books to entertain the curious.
