Cambridge Drinking Lounge

Design DNA

Our brief was to create a lounge bar with the ambience of a members’ club so we teamed marbles, dark timber parquet, antiqued mirrors and richly upholstered furnishings with a sense of fun – a pool table in the centre of the space that doubles up as a food display counter for private events. References to the university city included a full-height library wall and a free-standing wall translated into a gilded artwork depicting the double helix which, so the story goes, was modelled by Cambridge scientists over a pint nearby.
