AC Hotel by Marriott Olomouc

Precision and local reference

Working within the design framework of AC Hotels by Marriott, twenty2 degrees developed an interior scheme rooted in clarity, precision and restraint. The design respects the brand’s modern European sensibility while gently extending it through contextual references and a more layered material expression, creating spaces that feel both refined and inviting for the urban, design-conscious traveller.

Public areas unfold as open, fluid environments organised around a dramatic double-height volume. A controlled monochromatic spectrum forms a calm architectural backdrop.

Contemporary curves, limed oak and sheer drapery soften the composition, while a bespoke lighting installation animates the atrium and anchors a sculptural staircase. Artwork integrated within the reception draws on local architecture and artistic heritage, introducing moments of local identity, whilst a two-storey living wall brings texture and a sense of drama.

Meeting and wellness spaces continue this measured language, with warm timbers and natural textures that bring a quiet sense of comfort and relaxation.

Designed as a destination for both guests and locals, the rooftop restaurant opens to panoramic views of the historic Baroque town. Glazing on four sides, exposed concrete and wood wool ceilings introduce an urban character, balanced by a refined palette and a statement bar.

Exceptional detailing to specialist joinery, decorative screens and bespoke public area carpets take cues from graphic patterns found in local timber inlay marquetry and stained-glass windows.

Guestrooms maintain the brand’s minimalist clarity while incorporating bespoke furnishings and artwork, including rugs inspired by the abstract artworks of local artist Adolf Hölzel, creating calm, efficient spaces shaped by Olomouc’s cultural and architectural inheritance.
