Located on Vilamoura’s marina, this hotel is being reinvented as a Canopy by Hilton. Drawing on Portugal’s craft heritage and the rhythms of coastal life, the design connects closely to its neighbourhood, shaping characterful spaces that feel locally rooted and socially buzzy.
The ground floor radiates energy. An open plan area, it comprises reception, lounge, café, bar and restaurant that extend towards the terrace, pool and gardens. Playful shifts in materials, pattern and tone define areas for socialising, working or lingering, while regional references and a mix of vintage and contemporary furnishings create a joyful atmosphere that feels collected over time.
Restaurant and bar spaces flow from indoors to out, reflecting the spirit of Mediterranean living, and are accessible from the street. From all-day dining under a pergola to evenings by the pool bar with a DJ soundtrack, each setting creates its own mood and contributes to a lively, fun-filled hangout for guests and locals.
As in the public areas, a combination of fixed furniture with crafted free-standing pieces makes the guestrooms feel individually curated. Both the fabric to the bed canopy and the rug are custom designed, inspired by the gentle motion of local marine flora, the curtain trim hints at waves in summer seas and local artwork adds further to the charm. The design of the suites draws on a medley of elements from the public areas and guestrooms. Oak flooring is combined with dark wood furniture and artwork is specially chosen for each room.
On the lower ground, the spa offers a restorative pace, with its dusky tones, soft materials and muted lighting.
