Appointed as lead interior designer, twenty2 degrees was responsible for the public areas and banqueting & meeting rooms as well as all guestroom floors of this new Hilton hotel, an anchor development within the regeneration of London’s Bankside.
The design of the 292-key hotel responds to its urban riverside surroundings, where refinement and grittiness walk hand in hand, and playfully weaves these narratives into a world-class Hilton, creating a benchmark for the group. Nostalgic details are complimented by contemporary simplicity so as to give a nod to the past, present and future of the ever-changing neighbourhood.
Artwork was an important part of the story telling, from the graffiti wall panel beside the main entrance to specially commissioned sculptures in The Executive Lounge; even the Bankside Fox who frequented the construction site has become a recurring motif within the design.
High quality finishes, an emphasis on artisan production and thoughtful attention to detail delivered a hotel that feels as fresh and engaging today as when it first opened its doors.
