A subtle sense of place
Lisbon’s seafaring history as well as the ubiquitous ironwork and vibrant azulejo tiles of its old buildings were rich influences in our refurbishment of the guestrooms. Our starting point was the re-alignment of the rooms to meet today’s quality expectations of an Intercontinental hotel and to this we added layers. These included bespoke carpet designs abstracted from the work of local artisans and artwork alluding to the city’s sea and landscapes.
