As part of our public area refurbishment at the Crowne Plaza Porto, our client invited us to create a restaurant and bar, not just for the hotel but as a template for a new restaurant brand across Europe.
soMos (‘We Are’) is about sharing and togetherness. Its design was loosely inspired by the food, which is rustic yet refined, Mediterranean fare of the highest quality, beautifully served on small plates. The long space was articulated with varying collections of seating and a colour palette inspired by Mediterranean hues, punctuated by glazed screens; industrial-style features were juxtaposed with brightly patterned Portuguese wall plates and timber panelling.
In a city where people rarely dine in hotel restaurants, soMos is regularly packed with local families and friends.
